Product Spotlight: Starter Home series in partnership with Helios

For the third year, Argenta Private Capital Limited* (APCL), in partnership with Helios Underwriting PLC (Helios), offers investors an alternative approach to the Lloyd's market via a limited selection of pre-packaged investment vehicles.

This is the third round of Starter Homes and builds on the success of the previous two editions, with a range of vehicles designed to meet evolving investor demand.

Starter Homes offer investors access to Lloyd’s of London at a lower capital commitment than traditionally required and without the need to own the underlying capacity. Starter Home capital commitments begin at around £240k in Year one and reach levels of around £580k in Year three.

The innovative arrangement with Helios allows APCL Starter Home clients to invest in a hand-picked portfolio of syndicates, curated by market-leading provider Helios for a single Lloyd’s Year of Account (YoA), in this case the 2026 YoA. Investors are thus provided access to a set of diversified businesses and classes without exposure to earlier years. As investors buy the underwriting vehicle, they are able to select their own underwriting portfolio from 2027 onwards.

With access to quality capacity in a capital-efficient manner becoming harder to secure, getting in now can be valuable. Starter Homes provide access to a well-diversified portfolio for the 2026 year of account, at a time when market conditions may prove more attractive than those available for 2027 for some investors. In a market where capacity is a valuable asset, access matters.

Built for first steps, and for smart second ones.

At Argenta, we see our role as broadening access to Lloyd’s returns on behalf of an ever-increasing cohort of investors. Lloyd’s remains attractive and largely uncorrelated to other asset classes, offering an important diversifier for the discerning investor. Working together with the expert Helios team, we are able to provide existing and new investors access to a balanced, diversified and attractive portfolio."
